Symptoms

When attempting to run revaluation program, one journal line is created in Journal batch with blank Code Combination and in Posting Validation Report the following error occurs:

ERROR:

Batch Name                                                                       Period Name   Error
------------------------------------------------------- ---------------   ------------------------------------------------------------
Revalues     MAR-17 20-MAR-2017 76543                               MAR-17    Invalid journal entry lines

Batch Name                                                  Journal Name                                                                    Line Error
----------------------------------------   ---------------------------------------- --------- ----------------------------------------
Revalues     MAR-17 20-MAR-2017 76543     Revalues for USD transactions 12345                       Accounting Flexfield does not exist

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run the revaluation program that will create a journal
2. Check if one journal line created in Journal batch is having blank Code Combination
3. Try to post the journal and check the Posting Validation Report for the error

Why the Revaluation program is not returning an error  when it can't generate an account combination that is limited by cross validation rule?

Please check the profile option 'GL Revaluation: Validate Gain/Loss Accounts'.

It is probably set to 'No' and that might be why the program is not validating the gain/loss accounts.

If it is set to 'Yes', then the program should error out.
