Service Unavailable ORA-00001 Error, and Debug Log Error create_supplier_contact sqlerrm is ORA-06502, When Saving or Approving Supplier With Contact Having Long Title (Doc ID 2269195.1)

Symptoms

Get error at Approve Supplier where contact has a job title that is more than 60 characters

We're sorry, but the service you requested is not available at this time.  Please take down the following error and contact your system administrator.  Oracle error -1: ORA-00001: unique constraint (APPLSYS.FND_USER_PREFERENCES_U1) violated has been detected in FND_WEB_SEC.UPDATE_NO_REUSE_FUNCTION

 

FND debug shows:

POSCONTB in create_supplier_contact sqlerrm is ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

Also when the buyer creates a contact with a job title longer than 60 chars, via supplier > Contact Directory > Create, the buyer receives the same error

   ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1.  As Buyer send an invitation to register to a prospective supplier
2.  As Supplier fill out the information including the contact information.  (The contact includes job Title field that is longer than 60 chars.)
3.  Click to submit
4.  As Buyer go to Supplier User Management / Approve and Manage Supplier User Profile, and check for User Status = Pending Approval
5.  Click to approve
- get the errors

6.  As Buyer go to Supplier Management Administrator / Query for Supplier / Contact Directory / Create
7.  Create contact with a job title longer than 60 characters
- get the ORA-06502 error
