Lease Center Search For 'Equal To' Excludes Products 'in Relationship'

A contract was created where the Asset used was an existing Item Instance that is a component of a configured item in Install Base.
When using the Advanced search in the Lease Center to search by serial number the contract is not returned when using Serial Number Equal To.
However, when using Serial Number Like, the contract is returned.

Expect Equal To to also work since the value is equal to the value entered in the search criteria.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a contract using an existing Item Instance that is a component of
  a configured item in Install Base.
2. Use the Advance Search in the Lease Center to search for that component's
  Serial Number. Using Equal To nothing will be found, but using Like will return
  the expected result(s).

For example...

a. Serial Number is 123ABC.

b. Searching for Serial equal to 123ABC returns nothing.

b. Searching for Serial like 123ABC% returns the asset with serial number 123ABC.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users may not find the contract they need if Equal To returns nothing and they know they entered the correct serial number.
