Incorrect Material Status Set in Destination Organization When Transferring a Lot from Onhand Status Org to Non-Onhand Status Org Using Internal Sales Order (Doc ID 2291523.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 21, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.2.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The Lot Status field is no longer editable in the Item Lots form for Onhand Material Status enabled organizations after upgrade from 12.1.3 to 12.2.6. In 12.1.3 it was editable.

It is understood that the value in this field is not used within an Onhand Material Status enabled org. However, when transferring a lot using Internal Sales Orders from an Onhand Status org to an org that does not use Onhand Status, the Lot Status is carried over to the destination org but the Onhand Status is not. Customer transfers material from the production organization (which uses Onhand status) to a distribution organization (which does not), and they need the correct status from the source org to carry over to the destination org. In 12.1.3 they had been updating both the status on the Lot form and the Onhand Status in the source org, but can now no longer update the status on the Lot form.

The Lot Status in the destination org should take on the value of the Onhand Status in the source org, not the status on the Lot. Then they would not have to maintain the status in both the Item Lots form and the Onhand Status in the source org.
