Purpose

This article is intended to provide hands-on guidelines for obtaining a clean set of standardized logfiles for analysis when troubleshooting failures with the Oracle E-Business Suite 11i implementation of Apache mod_jserv and the associated Java Virtual Machine (JVM). A failure of this core functionality can result in a number of problems in Release 11i applications as much of the 11i functionality such as the newer TCF Socket Server, forms servlet architecture, framework login, and most of the self-service web applications rely on java servlets.

This is intended for intermediate level Oracle Applications 11i Application Administrators having difficulty running java servlets through the Apache web server. Despite the daunting length of this note, these steps typically take no more than 10 minutes.
