When attempting to run Pick Release, the following error occurs.
Pick Release process could not allocate NNN of item AAAAAA for order NNNN as there was insufficient quantity available Or Inventory allocations have failed, and the line has been back ordered.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run Pick Release
2. Check the debug log file
(To review Debug:
a. Enable inventory debug per Doc ID 148651.1. The details follow for your convenience:
INV:Debug Trace = YES
INV:debug level = 15
INV: Debug File = /usr/tmp/invdbg_SR.db
b. Ensure the debug file is set with a directory existing in utl_file_dir that can be found with this sql:
select value from v$parameter where name = 'utl_file_dir';
c. Attempt to Pick Release again
d. Disable the debug settings.
e. Review the debug log file.
* The debug will help diagnose the cause by tracking and logging critical steps as they execute. The debug documents program names and errors that a user may not normally see. Please enable the debug mode, reproduce the error and review the debug messages generated by this process.)
