Absence Reason Not Transferring Over From Mobile App

Symptoms
On : 12.1.3 version, R12.HR_PF.B.Delta.9 , Mobile Applications
When submitting an absence request through the mobile application, the absence reason field shows as expected. But when the request is submitted and the approver approves the request, the workflow is erroring out with the following:
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Employee enters in a leave request via the mobile app
2. Employee enters the Absence Reason on the mobile app and submits this for approval
3. Manager receives the leave request in their worklist notifications
4. Manager tries to approve the request but receives the error message
