WIP Required Quantity Not Aligned With Extended Quantity In BOM For A Specific Component (Doc ID 2312843.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Work in Process - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

There is a job in which required quantity for a component doesn't match with extended quantity calculated in the BOM of assembly.
In particular, looking at the job components' form, it is possibile to individuate the request of an unusually very large quantity for a specific component G40003961 (6456 pieces). While
examining the related extended BOM the required quantity is way lower (the sum of the extended quantities is 122, in line with the normal usage of that component for similar assemblies).

We didn't understand how that quantity has been calculated by the system and which is the cause of the problem.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Responsibility: Work In Process
2. Navigation: Discrete Job-> Discrete Job
3. Create job with problematic component.
4. See problematic component with large quantity.
