Workplan Planned Cost is not showing correctly when the task is created using the Copy Option

Problem Description
Planned cost is not getting updated when the task is created using the copy option.
New task is created with all the resources and planned cost and effort from the source task correctly.
But on the summary page, it shows just the number of resources against the task and planned cost is blank. because of this the planned cost on the project level is not updated.

1. Open the Project
2. Click on Workplan tab
3. Select 'Update Tasks' from the dropdown
4. select a task and click on 'Copy' button
5. Enter the prefix and the placement details
6.Click on 'Apply'.
7. Now it shows the message that 'PRC: Process Structure Updates' is in process.
8.After its completion, the planned Cost, effort are blank against the new task. But when we click 'Pencil' icon against the same, all the resources along with the planned values are shown

Also following observations being made:

On a project where there are no actual costs exists, when we copy a task it gives us an option to run 'Process Updates' from dropdown. After running in these projects it shows the workplan planned values correctly
But for projects where actuals exists for any task, and if we try to create a task by copy option from a source task, where no actuals exists, after copy it automatically triggers process and the view not gets updated.
