Synchronize Employees In Overriding Resource End Date (Doc ID 2323184.1)

Goal

An employee was setup as a resource in error. We end dated the resource record, but when running the Synchronize Employees concurrent request, it removes the end-date on the resource header. So we had to terminate the employee record in HR, end date the resource and role of the resource then create a new HR person.

Why does the Synchronize Employees concurrent request remove the end-date on the resource record?
