When Duplicate CLM Award, Error: Serial Number Is Invalid (Doc ID 2325792.1)

In Oracle Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM),
When Duplicate CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0002, the new award is not the expected number.
    Receive   CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0035
System should generate the next number CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0004 (increment by 1 to 004)

Try to update CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0035 and receive error
Serial Number is invalid.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create Award # 040ADV-17-A-0018-0002
2. Navigate Buyers WorkCenter (BWC) > Awards > Header, find award
3. Select : Duplicate with Attachments
4. New page: Duplicate CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0002,
   check: Retain clauses, deliverables and contract documents
    press Duplicate button
5. Confirmation CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0002 duplicated Successfully
    Created CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0035
6. Update CLM Award 040ADV-17-A-0018-0035
    Receive error: Serial Number is invalid.

Another Example of issue
1.) Navigate to the Awards page
2.) Create = CLM AWARD and click 'Go¿
3.) Enter Header information
a. Effective Date
b. Standard Form
c. Document Format
d. Default Ship To
4.) Click on Save (System generates a document number)
5.) Click on Edit Document Number
6.) Change Instrument Code from "A" to "C" click OK
7.) Click on Save
