Workaround for Error: APP-PER-289529 - Cannot Cancel Hire - Payroll Actions Have Been Performed

Goal

When trying to cancel a new hire, the following error was encountered:

APP-PER-289529: You cannot cancel the hiring of this person. This is because payroll actions have already been performed.

This error occurs because the employee has payroll actions associated with their person/assignment record (even if a payroll has not been processed for the individual).

 

How to verify if a new hire/employee has payroll records: Run and review the results of the Person Analyzer for the individual, specifically the Person Payroll Details section of the analyzer.

 

Please see details below and/or <Note 1675487.1> for instructions on how to run a Person Analyzer for the employee(s) affected by the issue:


o Download the most recent version of this script (to ensure that you are collecting the latest data request)
o Run from sqlplus using syntax:
SQL> @hcm_person_analyze
o To get Person Id :
Open the People screen
Query for the employee with the issue (if the issue is generic and not related to a particular person, use any employee)
Click on Help -> Diagnostics -> Examine
Field = PERSON_ID
Record the VALUE that is returned for PERSON_ID
o Provide the output (html file generated).
