Goal

The goal of this document is to explain which Lookup controls the List of Values (LOV) for the Contact Purpose field on the Suppliers > Contact Directory > Create Contact page. 

Although Supplier records are generally owned by Oracle Payables, this particular field is owned by Oracle Receivables.  So updates must be done in Oracle Receivables.
