Contract Lifecycle Management: When Editing CLM Award, Not Getting Default When Changing Instrument Type

Symptoms

On : 12.2.5 version, Award/PO
When editing a CLM Award to  change the instrument type, it is  not getting defaulted.

Upon save receive error: Serial number is invalid.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1.) Navigate to the Awards page
2.) Create = CLM AWARD and click 'Go¿
3.) Enter Header information
a. Effective Date
b. Standard Form
c. Document Format
d. Default Ship To
4.) Click on Save (System generates a document number)
5.) Click on Edit Document Number
6.) Change Instrument Code from "A" to "C" click OK
7.) Click on Save
    

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot edit award  the instrument type.
