Repository Contract is Stuck in Pending Approval Status After Rejecting Approval

Symptoms
Customer has AME rules configured for Repository Contracts. When rejecting the approval, the contract is stuck in 'Pending Approval' status. The action history displays that the rejection was performed by the approver. Hence customer is not able to update the contract.
STEPS
-----------------------
1. Create a Repository Contract and submit it for approval.
2. Open the approval notification and Reject the contract after entering any notes.
3. Check the Contract Repository Approval workflow.
The Process Contract Approval Notification is complete, but the Repository Contract Approval is Active. "Is Approval Complete" has evaluated to False and is stuck in the "Wait For Approver Response" node.
4. Contract is in Pending Approval status, hence cannot be edited.
