"No open Period Found" Error During Mobile Physical Counting In MSCA (Doc ID 2344007.1)

Users are having issues with Physical Counting process. There was a Physical Inventory defined with a snapshot as of 31-OCT-2017.
Now couple of days later users were trying to actually go around the warehouse and perform counting for this Physical Inventory.

When performing the count through the mobile and after they enter the Item , got following error message:
No open Period Found

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Using the desktop application, create Physical Inventory, and generate tags
2. Do not open inventory period for this month
3. Try tag counts on Mobile, it would error out due to no period opened.
