Forward Vs Backward Scheduling Of Work Order Does Not Produce The Same Results When Using a Simulation Set.

(Doc ID 2344418.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 01, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Work in Process - Version 12.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
You are seeing different results when using forward scheduling vs backward scheduling. In both the cases the scheduling method was the default method (which is routing based scheduling). You see that forward scheduling respects resource capacity simulation set changes.  And backward scheduling is based on shift hours without regard to the adjustments made to the resource hours via the resource simulation set.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Using Forward or Backward Scheduling should produce the same Discrete Job scheduled start and end times

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Responsibility = Work In Process (WIP)
2. Navigation = Discrete-> Discrete
3. Query Discrete Job
4. Change status to released
5. Choose backwards scheduling

Changes

You altered/created a Simulation Set
