Unprotected WebADI Documents Become Protected (Doc ID 2345130.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 23, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 12.2.5 to 12.2.6 [Release 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After un-protecting a Web ADI Template and saving the file, the file does not re-open as unprotected. Instead, when attempting to re-open the Web ADI template, the sheet is "protected."

We would like the option to permanently keep some of our Web ADI templates as unprotected.
In searching through My Oracle Support for other solutions, we came across a thread that noted there was an option to "Unprotect Sheet" when defining a Web ADI Template, prior to creating it and exporting. The default setting when creating the Web ADI Templates is Yes for Protect Sheet, so I changed this to No for one of our Web ADI layouts. When creating the spreadsheet and opening in Excel, the spreadsheet was still protected.

Changes

 Upgraded to 12.2.6 from 12.1.3
