Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
GLALGEN

Symptoms

Submitting the AutoAllocation process submits the AutoAllocation Launcher program (GLALGEN) which completes without error, but no stages of the Auto Allocation are submitted.

This was working without issue on 4-JAN and stopped working on 5-JAN with no noted changes to the system.

- This occurs for all Auto Allocation submissions.
- Individually each allocation runs without issue or error.
- This occurs for existing or new Auto Allocation submission.
- The same behavior is seen when submitting or scheduling the submissions, this has no bearing.

The AutoAllocation Launcher program Log shows the following:
Starting AutoAllocation for Request_Id:12345678
Inserting into allocation set history table
Fetching record from GL_AUTO_ALLOC_BATCHES
Number of record inserted into GL_AUTO_ALLOC_BATCH_HISTORY table=8
Launching Step_Down Allocation

When viewing the workflow Monitor for the request, the following is seen
Process Name - Automatic Step-Down Allocation Process
Status Error
Activity - What is the next Allocation Step?
Activity Result - Exception

Activity Details show
Internal Name - FIND_NEXT_ALLOCATION_STEP
Type Function
Function GL_AUTO_ALLOC_WF_PKG.NEXT_STEP_TYPE

Due to this issue AutoAllocations cannot be run, the allocations must be run individually.
