Symptoms
BEST PRACTICES:
- Run the Receivables Period Close Analyzer before closing the period to proactively identify this issue, as well as many other issues that will prevent you from closing the period.
- If you post to multiple EBS subledgers, use the EBS Period Close Process Analyzer for a smoother period close.
When attempting to run Update Subledger Accounting Balances process, the following error occurs in the logfile XLABAPUB: Update Subledger Accounting Balances
ERROR:
An internal error occurred. Please inform your system administrator or support representative that:
An internal error has occurred in the program xla_balances_calc_pkg.calculate_balances. Balances are not initialized for the latest open period.
Balances are not initialized for the latest open period.
Before proceeding with balance calculation, run Open Period Balances Program for Ledger ID: XXXX for the latest open period in General Ledger.
