Open Batch Move Orders Preventing Updating of Item Settings, and Causing Performance Issues (Doc ID 2349905.1)

Symptoms

This note explains the cause and solution for three types of issues that can be caused by open invisible move orders.

1. When trying to inactivate an item, the following error occurs:
Error: On hand quantity exists or there are open Deliver transactions for this item.
Please process these before changing the attribute.

2. When trying to change the Lot Control setting or other settings on an item, the following error occurs:

ERROR
-----------------------
You cannot update this field when
1) there is on-hand quantity
OR
2) transactions exist
OR
3) lots exist.


3. Performance issue when creating or processing a batch, and other things that use move orders.
