Unapplied Receipts Journal performance error: ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 16 in tablespace TEMP1 (Doc ID 2354312.1)

Symptoms

Unapplied Receipts Journal report completes in error with below message in log:

Java.sql.SQLException: ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 16 in tablespace TEMP1
ORA-06512: at "APPS.ARP_RECON_REP", line 2432
ORA-06512: at line 1

When user increases TEMP tablespace to 500 GB it returns error:

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 189 with name
"_SYSSMU189_3311421142$" too small
ORA-06512: at "APPS.ARP_RECON_REP", line 2432
ORA-06512: at line 1
