Transaction Entry Issues when Users are on Different Time Zones

On : 12.1.3 version, Asset Management

When entering transactions in Australia and Canada, Australia users are facing issue with some OLFM transactions, eg. terminations, that appear to be time zone related.

For example, Australia user attempts to create termination quote on 10-OCT-2017 (Aus time) however the quote creation date reads 09-OCT-2017 (Canada time, this is where server resides), because of this the Australia user can not accept the quote since the quote Effective From date is 26-May-2017 and receive the following error:

Quote 1148 can only be accepted during the quote effective dates.

Another example of where the default date is not the selected time zone:
Create a Manual Invoice, the invoice date calendar defaults to Canada date (09-OCT-2017) when in Australia it is 10-OCT-2017.
If this date defaults to the Australia date then all transactions driven by the date should process correctly.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set profile option for the Australia user
Client Timezone >> User level >> (GMT+ 10:00) Brisbane
Preferences show:
timezone: (GMT+10:00) Brisbane
2. Have an Australia user create and accept a termination quote
3. It will error since the sysdate is Canada time and it defaults to Canada timezone.
