Large number of concurrent processing log and output files causing performance issues (Doc ID 2355864.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Concurrent Processing - Version 12.1.3 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Looking for some tuning technique for concurrent processing specially with log files and output files storage

Is there any limitations for the number of files in these shared file system and if there is any limitations what are the thresholds ?
The load average on the server soars when the number of files is very large. The file system storing log and output files is NFS mounted to the server.
Why does the”find” command cause server load performance issue?

How to ensure the load on the server does not exceed the limitations and allow smooth functioning while running seeded Purge
program (Purge concurrent request and/or manager data) in case of having large number of files?
