Claims API Should Allow User Entered Claim Number for Child Claim Created

Symptoms

Presently, users cannot split claim more than 15 times sequentially due to limitation of claim number generated. We have a situation where claim is created using deduction functionality for a group of customers with huge amount. Individual customer from the group submits their own claim and it is settled against this deduction claim which is created on parent or buying group. Whenever claim is settled Oracle creates a child claim with remaining amount. If parent claim has say number DED10197 then child claim will have number DED10197_1. Later when other individual company provides information for claim then this child claim is used to settle it resulting in its child claim having number DED10197_1_1 and this continues as and when individual companies provide their claim. There is limitation for the claim number that can be created and currently it is 30 characters. There is no way we can change this numbering sequence. Ideally we want to have it as DED10197_1, DED10197_2 so that we can have 1000's created without the 30 characters limitation. We use split claim API to split the claims. So the split claim API should allow us to pass our own sequence.
