Task Dependency Does Not O Not Have Any Validation Logic (Doc ID 2362206.1)

Last updated on MARCH 18, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Common Applications Calendar - Version 12.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Setup task template group and add 3 task templates and setup dependency for two out of the three tasks, still the systems allow task status to be set to completed/closed before previous task statuses are completed/closed.

Tasks should be made sequential - i.e. Task 2 cannot be completed until Task 1 is completed / closed.

Steps To Reproduce
1. Create Task template
  Responsibility: CRM Administrator
Navigate: Task and Escalation Manager > Tasks > Task Templates > create template = Test Template, placing 3 task templates(Test A Warning, Test B Warning, Test C Warning) set dependency on Test 2 Warning(expectation is that Test 2 Warning can not be completed until Test 1 Warning is completed)

not the case, the system allows the Test 2 Warning and Test 3 Warning to be set to completed without Test 1 Warning to being completed.

leaving Test 1 Warning task with status = Open , select Test 3 Warning update status from open to completed > save and system allows Test 3 Warning to be saved and it should not due to the dependency setup.
