E-Business Suite R12 Integrated SOA Gateway, Performance related issues
Temporary space is not released from the temp tablespace Oracle Large Object (LOB) when calling an R12 SOA Gateway package in E-Business Suite.
When E-Business Suite calls an SOA Gateway package via web service procedure GetObject, space is allocated in the LOB object in the temp tablespace.
Each call allocates more space in the temporary tablespace LOB, and that space is not being released after the call is completed.
To release the space the administrator must restart the OAFM application layer, as the temp LOB is associated with the OAFM session.
The administrator can monitor the increasing values in the following locations:
1. CACHE_LOBS column of v$temporary_lobs.
2. BLOCKS column of V$TEMPSEG_USAGE with SEGTYPE='LOB_DATA'
In some cases the following error may also appear in the logs:
'ORA-01652 - unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace TEMP'
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. call an SOA Gateway package.
2. the time stamp is not released.
