(Doc ID 2392043.1)

Last updated on APRIL 27, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Warehouse Management - Version 12.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Non-WMS, Allow Cross Unit Issues = No, Date effectivity serials do not pick...
* Expect they should pick as 'cross unit' only impacts unit effective items... not date.

Recent changes
Applied these two patches :
1. Patch 25686420:R12.PJM.C AFTER UPGRADING TO 12.13,INVMWBIV: DOES NOT SHOW AVAIALBLE QUANTITIES ON LOCATOR
-- PJMUEOHB.pls 120.1.12020000.3

2. Patch 20656850:R12.WMS.C the patch resolves the issue of not allocating the model/unit numbers correctly when Allow Cross Unit Number Issues is enabled
-- (fixed in .9 delivered in .11)
-- WMSVPPEB.pls 120.33.12020000.11

Workaround
Manual issue date effective serials (with procedural checks to handle unit controlled components) .
-or-
Allow Cross Unit Issues = Yes

STEPS
1. Set project manufacturiong (PJM) setting: Allow Cross Unit Issues = No
2. Create a unit effective, serialized assembly with 2 components:
a) component1 is unit effective, serialized.
b) component2 is date effective, serialized.
* Add onhand specifying the unit number on serials where possible (component1).
3. Navigate to WIP > Discrete > Jobs : Create a unit controlled job for the assembly
4. Navigate to WIP > component pick : Run pick for the job.
5. Pick works for component1 but not 2.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
Causes extra manual work processing job issues manually. Cannot use picking for date effective serials.
Have a workaround that users deem acceptable until this issue is resolved.
