Goal

Can a custom column that is no longer 'valuable' to the company be reused?

Here is the scenario:

The customers company has been purchased by a company that is also on Oracle.
The company that acquired them wants to use a setup similar to what they have in their legacy Oracle to the new company's Oracle application.

The existing company has 16 Dynamic/Custom Columns in use; 7 Character and 9 numeric.
In the acquiring company all 20 custom columns are in use.

As the acquired company wants to view the data as it appears in Legacy, the customer wants to know if a Dynamic/custom column may be reused.
