How to View the Data in a Column Containing BLOB Data (Doc ID 2397852.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Process Manufacturing Product Development - Version 12.2.6 and later
Oracle E-Records - Version 12.2.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Certain types of non-traditional data are stored as a Variable-length binary large object string (BLOB). For example, you may need to see data related to the creation of an E-Record by examining the content of fnd_log_attachments.content. If you just run a normal select statement, all you will see is (BLOB) in that column. This note explains how to see the full data.
