Unable To View Workflow Metrics (Doc ID 2402364.1)

Symptoms

If we traverse to Oracle Application manager -> Workflow Manager via Workflow Administrator Web Applications responsibility and click on "show" under Work Items or Agent Activity, we see a bar graph showing no of Work items in "Active, Deferred, Suspended or Error" state or no of agent activities in "Ready, Waiting, Expired etc" status. Now, we go to some other page like home page and come back to Oracle Application manager -> Workflow Manager page again, we see a null pointer exception.
