QP Bulk Import Erroring UPDATE Action For Invalid 'orig_sys_line_ref' (Doc ID 2402951.1)

Symptoms

For mass price list updates, we are using the QP Bulk Import Program.
For every price list line update, we insert the QP interface tables for first updating the existing lines with an end-date 'X'
and then creating a new line for the new changes with end-date X+1.

In this problem case, QP Bulk Import program is rejecting the UPDATE action
with the error code 'Cannot perform update, as record with orig_sys_line_ref 698995 does not exist'.
We pass the existing list line ID of the line being updated as the orig_sys_line_ref and 698995 is a valid list line ID.
This same approach is working for other price lists and got this error message for the 1st time for this price list only.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Populate the QP interface tables
2. Run QP: Bulk Import of Price List
