Dynamic Destination File Name Using Date Expression Doesn't Work For SFTP Delivery Option (Doc ID 2413727.1)

Last updated on JULY 28, 2023

Applies to:

BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher) - Version 12c and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : OACS environment Oracle BI Publisher 12.2.4.1.0 (build:20180215.1950).

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
----------------------
BI Publisher dynamic destination file name, using date expression, does not work for the SFTP delivery option.

Instead of creating file name with a dynamic date value, the file gets created with name 'LeadStatus_%y%m%d.csv'.

For example the problem can be reproduced via the following Navigation:

Reports and Analytics > Catalog

Select report (ex.Turnover_Report), click Schedule - Output
Select the format as Excel
Select the default UCM connection
Define the Title as "Test"
Define the file name as "Test%y%m%d%H%M%S.xlsx"
Submit.

Check the report output on UCM:
Search out the file, Title = "Test"
Click "i" icon to view the file details
The native incorrect file name is "Test%y%m%d%H%M%S.xlsx"

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-------------------------

When Dynamic destination file name with date expression option is used, the resultant file should
be with actual date value instead of '%y%m%d' expressions.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Define schedule job with file name with dynamic option with date expression.
2. Upon completion, verify the file in the destination and find that file created with 'LeadStatus_%y%m%d.csv' name
instead of actual date appended to file name.

WHAT IS WORKING?
-----------------------------

This method used to work in 11g and 12c (12.2.1.2.0). But does not work in release 12.2.4.x
