Last updated on DECEMBER 05, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Applications Manager - Version 12.1.3 to 12.2 [Release 12.1 to 12.2Cloud]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to run adcfgclone.pl on the application tier, intermittently the process can not get a database connection, failing with "connection reset error such as:

==========================================
Trying to connect using SID as ServiceName
getConnectionUsingServiceName() -->
JDBC URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=<host.domain>)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=<SVCNAME>)))
WARNING: Exception occurred: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO Error: Connection reset
===========================================

This can result in:

txkWfClone.sh exited with status 139
ERROR: txkWfClone.sh execution failed, exit code 139

and other errors.

Note: this issue will most likely appear intermittently, failing often in different places during config clone.  Sometimes Immediately, then sometimes at the ensd, etc. But the connect string is unchanging.

Changes

 Setup clone on new machine.  Most likely in a Virtual Machine (VM) environment
