Symptoms

On : 12.1 HRMS RUP10 version, US Payroll Tax Issues

When attempting to submit a quick pay for the Base Pay Earnings Element the following error occurs.

ERROR

Error was encountered when processing assignment 100059957
Error was encountered when processing Element Type US_TAX_VERTEX_HOME
Error was encountered when processing formula US_TAX_VERTEX_HOME
An error occurred during formula execution:
Variable SIT_GROSS not initialized at line 1258 of US_TAX_VERTEX_HOME
Cause: An attempt has been made to use a local variable before it was initialized. This is normally detected by the
Variable SIT_GROSS not initialized at line 1258 of US_TAX_VERTEX_HOME


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Applied Oregon Transit Tax Patch (Patch 28172625:R12.PAY.B)
2. Applied May 2018 Monthly Vertex file
3. Employee's home address is Oregon, work location is Alaska

4. Submit quick pay
5. Observe error

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot implement the Oregon Transportation Transit Tax to be deducted from employees for the July 1st paychecks
