Record Status Is Showing As "Query" While Creating An Asset By Using "copy Asset" Button

The user is not able to do any validation in project asset form because of the below reason:
Record status is showing as "Query" instead of "New" while creating new asset by using "Copy Asset" button
The user wants to create a task after creation of project asset by using the standard API. This functionality was achieved by writing queries in "when new item instance" trigger. But the problem is "after deletion of task the task is getting deleted, but after querying the corresponding asset in the assets form the task is getting created even after deletion of the task".
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Costing Administrator -> Projects
2. Click on Find
3. Click on “Open”
4. Click on Assets
5. Click on “Detail”
6. Click on Copy Asset
7. Click on “OK” and Save the asset.
Asset will be created.
Task will be created along with the asset by using the asset name as the task number as per
our custom process.
8. Close it and go to Tasks window by clicking on Tasks
9. Search with Task name as “TEST12345”
10. Task is created with “TEST12345”
11. Delete the task
12. Asset Form:
Task is getting deleted, but when the asset is queried with the same task, “TEST12345” in asset form the
task is getting created in the task window through the task was previously deleted.
This is custom process which has been used
To avoid the issue, the user has done the process by adding the condition as if the record status
is “New” (i.e when asset is getting created) , in this case its working fine as expected (After
task is deleted and when we try to query the the corresponding asset, the task is not getting
showing the record status as “Query” . So the same problem continuing here .
