Unique Constraint INV.MTL_CROSS_REFERENCES_TL_U1 Violated While Running AutoCreate Configuration Items (Doc ID 2424888.1)

When running the "AutoCreate Configuration Items" (BMCCCI) program, getting error message Unique constraint (INV.MTL_CROSS_REFERENCES_TL_U1) violated.
It appears to be related to Assemble to Order (ATO) Items where Cross References have been assigned.
It is possible to run the BMCCCI program for other Items where Cross References are not assigned.


Create_Item: create_item_data::others::300ORA-00001: unique constraint (INV.MTL_CROSS_REFERENCES_TL_U1) violated


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create Sales Order '1234567'.
2. Enter an Assemble To Order (ATO) product on a Sales Order line
3. Process from the "Progress Order" activity "Create Configuration - Elligible%" directly from the Order
4. Or, run the "AutoCreate Configurations Items" from the Request menu.
