Symptoms

When entering a manual journal in General Ledger, selecting the currency (for example 'JPY') from the List of Values (LOV), an error occurs on the form. 

Running APPS.GL_CURRENCY_API (in SQL or using custom code) also errors out.

 

ERROR:
Form: APP-SQLGL-08078: No Conversion rate has been defined for the given currency, conversion date, and conversion type.

API usage/call:

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
ORA-06512: at "APPS.GL_CURRENCY_API", line 58
ORA-01403: no data found

 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. General Ledger responsibility > Journals > Enter
  2. Attempt to enter a manual journal
  3. Try to select the currency (for example 'JPY' from the List of Values)
  4. Get error on the screen

New setup where the customer had not entered manual journals previously
