12.2 E-Business Suite User Management Interface Is Unable To Modify A Role Name After Creating a Role with Similar Name Containing An Underscore Or Other Special Characters (Doc ID 2471950.1)

If a new role with an underscore or space in the Role Code is created and a second role is created without an underscore or space, when selecting either version for update it pulls the role up without the underscore or space.

If a user end dates the role with an underscore and changes the category to Obsolete, the role without the underscore then shows as end dated.

No matter which version they choose, they are unable to update the incorrect version of the role with an underscore.

The issue occurs even though no user has been assigned the role yet, and no responsibilities have been assigned to the role.

When a customer queries the WF_USER_ROLE_ASSIGNMENTS table, it only pulls the correct version of the role and not the version with the extra underscore.

For example, create 2 identical roles with just a difference of space or underscore between them.

From Roles and Roles Inheritance page, query any of the role, observe that always randomly one of the role is shown in results table.

Any update to the role, causes both the roles to be updated.
