Symptoms

Cannot import leads using Marketing lead import screen. Record completes with error, "No Match rule was specified for performing the search. Please pass match rule name from the application or from user profile defaults."

ERROR 
No Match rule was specified for performing the search. Please pass match rule name from the application or from user profile defaults.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
The lead record will be imported without error.

STEPS

    • (R) Marketing Super User
    • (N) Audience Workbench > Audience dashboard > Import
    • Import csv file with following mapping
      • Address1 > Address1
      • Country > Country
      • Organization name > Customer name
      • Owner > Assign to Person ID
      • Person First Name > first name
      • person Last name > last name
      • promotion Code > Promotion code
      • Source system > Source System
  1. Lead import fails and record shows as error
    • Click on Number of Error Records hyperlink in Lead Import summary page
    • Error for Import Record.
    • ERROR - No Match rule was specified for performing the search. Please pass match rule name from the application or from user profile defaults.



BUSINESS IMPACT
Cannot import leads into the system.
