Issues Launching and Finishing Published Configurations after Installing Java Web Start - Incorrect Browser and Failure to Update Calling Application (Doc ID 2491159.1)

After recently applying several patches and updating to Java WebStart, it's been observed that published Configurator UI behavior has changed. If a user has a different browser set as default than the browser they launch EBS with, the Configurator UI will open in this default browser. Further, when finishing or cancelling the Configuration the UI page does not close. The order associated is still updated and configuration saved, but page fails to close. This issue only occurs with Order Management and is not observed with Quoting.

It's expected the UI page will open in the same browser EBS had been opened with, and that the page will close after finishing or cancelling the configuration.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Order Management responsibility
2. Create a new sales order
3. Add a configurable line
4. Select Configurator
5. Observe default browser opens UI page.
6. Make selections as usual
6. Select Finish or Cancel
7. Observe the UI page does not close
