Not Able To Add Customer Item To Order Line With Customer Reference Setup At Customer Level (Doc ID 2504289.1)

Not able to add Customer Item to an order line when Customer Reference is setup at the Customer Level.

Item xxx is defined as a customer item at the customer level instead of the address level and hence this item is not available in the ordered item LOV on sales order line when Item Identifier Type is selected as Customer Item.

The price list is setup for Customer Items and it is also not possible to change the customer item to address level from front-end screen.   Observation is  that this restriction is being managed by the profile option "OM: Restrict Customer Items for Line Level Ship To Address".

Changing the profile option value is not an option.  How can the customer item be made available in LOV?
