EAM Work Orders Getting Reclassified As Discrete Jobs (Doc ID 2508205.1)

Last updated on JULY 18, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Asset Management - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

If EAM work order is closed, then unclosed, it will change from a maintenance job to a discrete job (entity_type =1 in wip_entities).
When the work order changes to a discrete job, it prevents users from opening the work order in any of the eAM forms or OAF pages.
This is happening across all instances and can be reproduced at will.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expected behavior is that an eAM work order only has a entity type of MAINTENANCE JOB or CLOSED MAINTENANCE JOB and it never changes to a DISCRETE JOB.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Responsibility: Enterprise Asset Management.
2. Go to Work Orders -> Close Work Orders.
3. Use FORMS to Close the completed Work Order.
4. Now UNCLOSE the work order.
5. Now Entity_type =1 and users cannot pull up WO in eAM forms.
