Mismatch In Assigned By Value When Re-assigning Tasks In Collections Form Or Task Mass Update (Doc ID 2524855.1)

Mismatch in Assigned by value when re-assigning tasks in Collections Form or Task Mass Update

When re-assigning task in Collections Form / Task Tab - the UserName is filled in the Assigned By field.
When assigning tasks using the 'Mass Task Update via the HTML UI, the field is populated by an unknown value.

How can we ensure that the UserName is populated when assigning tasks via Mass Update Functionality?

For example >

Create Task - assigned by user <user1>.  In the Collections Form, Task Tab, change the Owner from an Individual Resource to a Group Resource.
Assigned by changed to USER5 (my user name). The changed assigned by was also visible in the Control Tab of the Tasks Form.

Look up another task:  Assigned by user2. Re-assigned this from Group to Individual in the Mass Task Page.
When we check the task details in the Collector Form, Task Tab, the Assigned by was still user2 and the change was also not captured in the Task - Control Tab.

Conclusion: assigned by changes only when you edit the individual task in the Collections Form - Task Tab or the Task Form itself.
When using the 'Mass Task Update via the HTML UI, the Assigned by field does not change.
