Item Descriptions With Embedded Carriage Returns Cause Field Label/Prompt Misalignment When Performing MSCA Subinventory Transactions Using Telnet (Doc ID 2530824.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.1.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A MSCA/MWA subinventory transaction is being performed using telnet.
Some descriptions are inentially created as multiple lines (i.e. they have embedded carriage returns).
If a carriage return appears within the first 9 characters of the description, the cursor becomes misaligned with the field label.
For example, the cursor will be located in the "Desc" field label when it should actually be located in the "Project" field.

This only occurs when using telnet.
The Mobile GUI client and Smartphone App work without issue.
