Deletion of Customer Specification Validity Rules with Null Organization Code in 11i to R12 Migration Based on WIP Spec Validity Rule ID Instead of Customer Spec Validity Rule ID (Doc ID 2533073.1)

Last updated on APRIL 20, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Process Manufacturing Systems - Version 12.2.8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.8 version, Migration Issues 11i to R12

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Customer is getting GMD_MIG_COMMON_SPEC_DELETE messages (A record with null organization code has been deleted from gmd_customer_spec_vrs. It was not ...). This isn't a problem, but it prompted the customer to look through the code.

The customer looked at the code in gmdmg12b.pls version 120.19.12020000.8 (the latest), and it appears there is a bug in the code on line 5925. This section is about customer specification validity rules.
Line 5912 OPEN get_cust_sample_org (l_cust_spec.spec_vr_id);

but the delete statement on line 5924 refers to a WIP spec validity rule on line 5925:

DELETE gmd_customer_spec_vrs
WHERE spec_vr_id = l_wip_spec.spec_vr_id;

So it appears that the code is trying to delete customer spec validity rules based on the id's of WIP spec validity rules.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect the code to delete the correct VRs.
