The client is trying to activate the BWC functionality on Purchasing, using the steps from the note:

BWC FAQ - Buyer Work Center (Doc ID 1301969.1)

The client is getting this error "Error Category is Invalid " in Buyer Work Center.

Goal

E-Business Suite 12.2 Application Object Library, Flexfields related issues

 

 

 

 In the Buyer Work Center (BWC), users receive the following error when attempting to enter details into the ITEM_CATEGORIES flexfield:

"category is invalid, or category is invalid for the item.
Cause: You entered an invalid category.
Action: Enter a valid category.
Cause: You entered a category that is invalid for the item that you entered.
Action: Enter a valid category for the item."

 

When the BWC flexfield calls "fnd_flex_keyval.validate_segs" to validate the segments of the category, it fails validation with the above error.
