Carrier Capacity Is Not Working As Expected With Multi Leg And Network Routing (Doc ID 2546462.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Operational Planning - Version 6.4.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You have set up for Carrier Capacity on 1st leg for Multi Leg scenario and it is capturing the capacity usage and working as expected for the first shipment. But, when you are planning second order with multi leg, it is failing 1st leg and planning 2nd and 3rd leg which is invalid.

Expected Result:
Either the second order should fail (all 3 legs) or it should look for the alternate route and plan them.

You have 2 routes in the Network Routing Configuration:

1. LOC01 > CONSOL-POOL01 - CONSOL-POOL01 > CONSOL-POOL02 - CONSOL-POOL02 > LOC02
2. LOC01 > XDOCK01 - XDOCK01 > CONSOL-POOL02 - CONSOL-POOL02 > LOC02

Step1: 1st order OR1 is bulk planned and it build 3 leg shipments and captured 1st leg capacity usage
Step2 : 2nd order OR2 is bulk planned and it failed 1st leg and build with 2nd and 3rd leg (this is invalid as the 1st leg is failed then how come the freight can move from 2nd and 3rd leg)

TEST CASE

(CONSOL-POOL01 -> CONSOL-POOL02)
2943 SERVPROV02 LTL 2019-04-22 17:31 2019-04-22 21:16
(CONSOL-POOL02 -> LOC02)

02. Now, plan the 2nd order (OR2)

(CONSOL-POOL01 -> CONSOL-POOL02)
