Last updated on JULY 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Lease and Finance Management - Version 12.1.3 to 12.2.8 [Release 12.1 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
After processing a renewal quote to renew a contract the new contract number is defaulted to the old contract number with "-RENxxxx" appended, where xxxx is a sequence number. This happens for each renewal, and as a result after several renewals the contract number the contract number generated grows to a huge string, such as this:

ContractNumber-RENxxxx-RENxxxx-RENxxxx-RENxxxx-RENxxxx-RENxxxx-RENxxxx-RENxxxx-RENxxxx

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect that the new contract number would be a manageable length.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Book a contract.
2. Create and process several Renewal Quotes on the Contract.
