When a webservice with input parameter of XMLTYPE is invoked from SOAPUI or POSTMAN (including Concurrent Program interfaces deployed as a REST Web Service) the following errors can occur:


Error Description   SYSTEM_ERROR

Error Details    java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.LinkageError cannot be case to java.lang.Exception at
oracle.apps.fnd.soa.provider.services.jca.JCAHandler.handlerRequest(JCAHandler.java:139) at etc.

 

OR

FND_SOA_SERVICE_EXECUTION_ERR:oracle.apps.fnd.soa.util.SOAException: ServiceExecutionError: Error while executing the service
oracle_jdbc_driver_LogicalConnection_Proxy cannot be cast to oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection:Please see service monitor logs for full error trace

 

OR

Service Provider Access resulted in exception 'oracle.apps.fnd.isg.client.IREPException' when attempting to perform 'DEPLOY'. Please view Service Provider logs for more detail



The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.  Invoke the Webservice from SOAPUI or POSTMAN
2.  It errors out pointing to teh error mentioned above
